Abstract
This paper exemplifies future trends in handset
antenna systems, contextualizing their historical evolution and
anticipating novel paradigms. It is shown through numerical
simulations how narrow-band antennas used in transceiver
separation mode can reduce the total loss in presence of the
user’s hand, improving at the same time the antenna isolation.
