Abstract
In a stand-alone brushless doubly-fed induction generator (BDFIG) system, nonlinear loads could result in the distorted power winding (PW) current and voltage, which would further cause electrical torque pulsations and degrade the performance of linear loads supplied by this system. This paper presents a control strategy for the harmonic voltage and current elimination of the stand-alone BDFIG feeding nonlinear loads in ship shaft power generation systems. The control strategy of the control winding side converter (CSC) is designed to regulate the PW fundamental voltage and eliminate the PW harmonic voltage. Meanwhile, the control strategy of the load side converter (LSC) is improved to mitigate the PW harmonic current by injecting the required harmonic current to the loads. The satisfactory performance of the proposed control strategy is verified by comprehensive experiments on a 30 kVA prototype BDFIG.
