Abstract
This book (International Sale of Goods Contracts) provides the reader with an introduction to the most significant rules governing international sales contracts, including also choice of law, conflict-of-laws, and interpretation of contracts.
The introduction of choice of law rules describe the overall principles of the 1955 Haague Convention and the 1980 Rome Convention. In addition, the interplay with the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods (CISG) is described. The rules and principles are explained using examples from court practice and the book covers the autonomous interpretation method which application is mandatory under the CISG. The book also addresses the rules on formation of contract including rules governing offers, acceptance and the conclusion of standard terms and conditions.
