Abstract

Given the risks of starting or running any initiative, strategic thinking through Theory of Change is an important approach to overcome endemic challenges and get ideas off the ground. Strategic thinking is seen here as a way of discovering the critical factors that lead to success in any venture, and Theory of Change supports this as a way of thinking that systematically attempts to map the factors and assumptions to lead to change. Given its flexibility, Theory of Change can provide many possible models on how change can happen. After discussing the gaps that this book fills in the design and strategic thinking scholarship, the chapter provides an overview of the five parts and 19 chapters of the book.
