Abstract

Two reports from VIVE, The Danish Centre for Social Science Research, show that around half of people with visual impairment cannot walk in their neighbourhood without difficulties (Amilon, A. et al., 2017, 2019). This large percentage surprised us, and therefore, in this pro-ject, we have explored the difficulties related to accessibility in the pedestrian environment for this group of people through a questionnaire among the Danish O&M instructors (Orien-tation and Mobility), who train people with visual impairment to orientate using fx the long white cane together with their hearing.
