Abstract
What barriers constrain European firms’ ability to engage in cross-border e-commerce? The purpose of this study is to analyse perceptions of barriers to cross-border e-commerce. Knowing managers’ perceptions of different online export barriers might be an important first step in increasing firms’ participation in cross-border e-commerce. Using a sample of 2,478 European firms, we utilised Latent Profile Analysis to examine response profiles to items that assessed perceived barriers to cross-border e-commerce within the EU. We identified four latent profiles with distinct response patterns to items related to cross-border e-commerce barriers.
