Abstract
Alternative methods of assessing the placental function are called for in the attempt to clarify the pathophysiology behind adverse pregnancy outcome as fetal growth restriction.
A new concept of using cardiovascular sounds emitted near the uterine arteries in pregnancy is investigated in this thesis. The sounds are analyzed for scientific and potentially clinical use in four papers.
