Citizenship and Politics of Belonging: Inclusionary and Exclusionary Framings of Gender and Ethnicity

Abstract

Is the notion of intersectionality good or bad? The article argues that intersectionality is double-edged. It can be a fruitful way to analyse intersections between different categories. But in public, political debates intersectional arguments can also be part of an exclusionary framing, which construct social distinctions between' them and us.'
