Abstract

In 5G cellular communication systems, millimeter-wave (mm-wave) technology will be applied. To compensate the path loss, beam steerable antenna arrays with high gain has to be utilized in both base stations and mobile terminals. This paper will address some challenges of the mm-wave array designs in mobile handsets, which is mainly due to the user's mobility. As examples, some recent researches on solving these challenges are introduced in this paper as well.
