Abstract

As a mixed methods researcher, one must navigate a complex methodological field when choosing methods and epistemological standpoint. In this chapter, an approach to understanding methodological complexity is presented through a developed model including both methodological eclecticism and paradigmatic pluralism. In contrast to categorical assumptions regarding the application of methods in practice, the value of using both qualitative and quantitative methods in one integrated design is discussed.
