Extensive multi-period surveys, carried out during more than ten years by the Canadian Wādī et-Temed Project revealed a significant number of Nabataean - Early Roman sites along the Wādī et-Temed and its tributary streams. The typology of sites includes agricultural settlements and installations, some of which were documented in 2006-2008 by a team from the University of Vienna. During the two seasons 2007 and 2008 the mainfocus was placed on the more detailed examination of the Nabataean Site WT-12, also known as Mugur Šābik. The ongoing surveys of the Nabataean - Early Roman sites have enabled a first insight into the questions of resource management of this period in the semi-arid realm of the central Moabite highland.
