Abstract

The Introduction of a surface element in the basic tensegrity. But if enough advances are gained from that intoduction it should be reasonable to make deviations from the original definitions. This paper deals with a project on timber plates in tensegrity structures. It departs from models and calculations on plate structures combined with tension cables forming spatial roof or bridge structures. Structural analysis has been performed using a method for bar frameworks by turning the plate into an equivalent framework. Matters have been looked into are coaction between individual modules and the complete structure, assembling techniques and design of interconnections between modules and construction methods.
