Abstract
This entry introduces the concept of postdigital Virtual Reality. A brief historical presentation of Virtual Reality is followed by a discussion of four key transitions in the postdigital era: from computer-generated Virtual Reality to RealVR, from individual to shared experiences, from pre- and post-tests to the processual unfolding, and from immersive experience to immersive research. Taken together, these transitions present a postdigital stance on Virtual Reality informing future research and education.
