Abstract

There has been a lot of talk about female managers in the past and every year on March 8th (International Women´s Day) the same dance is routinely re-enacted – a need for more female (top) managers is stressed and regrets that no progress has been made. This calls for a critical review of the actual need for female managers and what the fuss about female leadership is really about. This paper will draw on this research to revisit the issue of why (and how) we may still need more female managers or, simply, leadership behaviour based on female (leadership)values. On that basis, the concept of Corporate Diversity Responsibility is introduced and discussed.
