Abstract

Radio spectrum has now acquired an interesting status of omnipresence. It is recognized the world-over as an important tool for the socio-economic development of the nation. In recent years, technological innovations have has placed increasing demands on radio spectrum. The thesis presents a new method of allocation of spectrum for commercial services to enhance the spectrum utilisation as well as revenue through the auction of spectrum along with detailed analysis of spectrum trading in telecom sector at operator level and at user level and gives a comprehensive idea about spectrum requirements for 5G network.
