Abstract
This paper proposes an optimal reactive power dispatching strategy in order to minimize the total losses in a DFIG based wind farm, including the copper loss of the generators, the losses of converters, filters, transformers and the losses of cables. The reactive power constraints, bus voltage constraints as well as other operational constraints are considered in the optimization problem. The proposed strategy is compared with proportional dispatching method. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
