Abstract
In the paper it is shown how upper and lower bounds for the reliability of plastic
slabs can be determined. For the fundamental case it is shown that optimal
bounds of a deterministic and a stochastic analysis are obtained on the basis of
the same failure mechanisms and the same stress fields.
