Abstract

Thanks to the simple structure and concept, fast dynamic response, and good robustness and disturbance rejection, sliding mode control has attracted considerable attention from power electronics researchers in recent years. In this chapter, the basic concept of different types of SMCs is investigated. The two most important SMCs, i.e., classic and super twisting, have been implemented to make voltage control of an UPS. Experimental results confirm their excellent performance in both steady-state and transient operation as well as good load current disturbance rejection.
