Abstract

In modern power systems, it is very important to provide secure and effective generation. Power plants with multiple fuel options are a good solution for this purpose, especially in the electric grids that are highly dependent on the natural gas network. In this paper, first an integrated linear modeling of both electric power and fuel dispatching systems are given. Then, with considering a smart transportation system, an optimal integrated operation of thermal power plants is proposed by considering liquid fuel dispatching system and electric power network constraints. The proposed optimization problem presents the multi-day operation of electrical generation and fuel dispatch. To obtain the feasible solution, the constraints of both electric power and fuel transport systems are considered simultaneously. The Simulation results prove that the proposed optimal integrated operation can be very useful for sustainable electrical energy generation.
