title = "Specification of Instrumentation of Multi MW Wave Dragon Offshore Wave Energy Converter",
abstract = "Wave Dragon is a wave energy converter of the overtopping type and is described e.g. in Tedd et. al. (2006). The device has been thoroughly tested on a 1:51.8 scale model in wave laboratories and a 1:4.5 scale model deployed in Nissum Bredning, a large inland waterway in Denmark. Based on the experience gained a full scale, multi MW prototype is to be constructed and deployed in the North Sea (or other possible site) to validate the economic and technical feasibility of the device. This report aims to give a description of the instrumentation to be used on the prototype. Several of the transducers used on the Nissum Bredning prototype have failed during the first three years of deployment. Therefore the system of transducers to be used on the North Sea prototype should be robust. Redundancy is necessary to ensure valid information is available even if several of the transducers fail. This is especially important for the transducers relevant for the real time control of the device and measure of performance.",
