Abstract

This report recommends a number of simple solutions for improving the indoor environment in schools and institutions for children, starting with the building shape and construction, materials, ventilation and including operation and maintenance. At the same time the report suggests how new teaching methods and changed use of the building will influence the design of school buildings in the future. Moreover existing requirements and regulations governing schools and institutions for children are reviewed.
