Abstract
This literature review of the global leadership literature explains the genesis of the global leadership field and its multidisciplinary roots. We identify the key research questions that drive the field, methodologies, and beginning streams of thought. Both the foundational research responsible for major advances and research gaps are articulated. Finally, the chapter surfaces business and societal challenges facing the field and suggests its potential contributions.
