Abstract

The problem statement of the article aims at investigating as to whether it is necessary to update the ELD in a more sustainable perception, and on ascertaining this, as to whether there is any need to confront ecological imperatives and economic integration on the compatibility of the regime of which the ELD is carrier. Thus, in order to address such a question of research, the analysis of the ELD is carried on in the light of the relevant different principles and concepts present in the ELD. Hence, the need to revisit the legal architecture of the ELD in a "more sustainable future perspective" might suggest and lead to, a preliminary conclusion on the usefulness to compare the ELD regime with the latest amendements of the TFEU on the free momvement of goods, services and competition rules.
