    Abstract

This article investigates into the perceptual frameworks hat deal with the complexity of cultural values and practices on the one hand, and the theoretical conceptualizations of "what keeps societies together" on the other. It is argued that a differentiated approach to culture is necessary in order to match the complexity of multicultural societies.
