Abstract

In the development of timber-plates for structural use examples show a variety today from bridge-decks and housing building-systems, from plane surface elements to curved post-stressed roofing structures. This paper deals with a high-tech use of engineered timber-products and what structural and architectural possibilities there are yet to gain from in this field. The paper takes some existing
structures in different techniques as a point of departure for a discussion and proposes a number of sketches for development towards further advanced uses.
