Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to analyze various discursive constructions of North Jutland, as they are expressed letters to the editor brought in Nordjyske Stiftstidende. The analysis takes its point of departure in the debate on "Peripheral Denmark" and "the rotten banana", which was a dominant discourse in Danish media, in order to illuminate the struggle on words that took place, and still take place, on the way in which North Jutland should be perceived.
