Abstract
Urban Investigations: words and pictures
This exhibition contained a selection of photos and related writings that in concert show some of the themes and stories present in the materiality of the everyday urban. A ethnographic method of intuitive photo registration formed the basis of analytical urban study that revealed a number of themes, that were then expressed in the exhibition as individual collections under the overarching title of Urban Investigations. The themes exhibited were: Material Abstractions – the landscape of material close up, Relationship – the relationship between humans and nature in the city, The Dance – the interrelated movement of light and shadow and Remembering – the recurring presence of hearts in the material of the street.
