Abstract
Nordsøen var i omkring 700 år afskåret fra Limfjorden, men dette ændredes en februarnat i 1825, hvor en ny kanal ved Agger brød frem. En række stormfloder ramte Nordvestjylland i 1800-tallet og fik katastrofale konsekvenser for havboer, limfjordske fiskere og små købstæder.
