Abstract

This paper concerns with the development of the wave energy converter (WEC) Wave Dragon. This WEC is based on the overtopping principle. An overview of the performed research done concerning the Wave Dragon over the past years is given, and the results of one of the more comprehensive studies, concerning a hydraulic evaluation and optimisation of the geometry of the Wave Dragon, is presented.
Furthermore, the plans for the future development projects are sketched.
