    Abstract

Deliverable 26. Former Deliverable 8 covers the characterisation of the wave resource. It introduces the spectral parameters relevant for wave climate description, in-situ and remote wave measurement techniques and numerical wave models and wave databases.

Deliverable 17 expands further on the state of the art of wave resource characterisation, introduces few concepts on wave theory and describes frequency spectra and directional spectra.

This deliverable presents a case study on wave data processing and site characterisation at Hanstholm, off the North- West coast of Denmark. The study focuses on the short-term, medium term and long-term forecasting of waves and on day-ahead forecasting of winds, in typical and in stormy conditions. Notice all the results presented in this deliverable are location and time-period dependent.
