Abstract
A new wideband and wide beam scanning array is designed by using a new decoupling method. The beam width of the array element and inter-element isolation of the linear array can be improved simultaneously. By installing a ground-connect stub, a magnetic dipole is introduced to generate horizontal direction radiation to broaden the antenna beam width. Moreover, the ground-connect stub facilitates an E-coupling and H-coupling resonance between array elements. Thus the high isolation of the array can be achieved. Finally, the beam scanning capability of the eight-element linear array can be enhanced correspondingly. It is a potential method for phased array designing.
