Abstract
In my PhD-project "Interactions in Youth Radio", I examine how listener interactions on the radio have developed, and what they can tell us about the radio listener's changing relationship with technology. For the purpose of analyzing developments in radio, I will advocate a mixed methods approach, where quantitative content analysis is supplemented by qualitative analysis of smaller amounts of the sample material. In my case, the material chosen for qualitative analysis is found while coding the entire sample in the computer program NVivo. The advantages of this mixed methods approach are that research projects can represent both the width and depth of their material. Furthermore, utilizing qualitative analysis software like NVivo will ensure a larger degree of research transparency.
