Abstract
The design of new Danish hospitals is of great interest as the government is investing approximately DKK 40 billion o n creating 'super hospitals'. The architectural quality is under discussion and the goal is to incorporate evidence based knowledge to secure the users wellbeing and optimum recovery in the healthcare environment as a requirement. Building design is challenged by many disciplines and compromises are being made in order to create best practice for healthcare architecture.
