    Description

    To undertake a project to teach social workers understanding of ASD, and behavioural management strategies. The purpose was to develop skills and knowledge in social workers to manage difficult behaviour in this population. Specialist courses were esablished to train Social workers at ground floor and middle management level current knowledge regarding the diagnosis and assessment of ASD, and the principles of behavioural management. ABC evaluation, Baselines, strategies for managing communication and anxiety based antecedents to challenging behaviour, Time out, modelling, task analysis and backward chaining were all included in the training package.
