Sound environment in ambulances

Project Details

Description

Recently the Danish hospitals have raised the focus on the sound environment and its influence on patient comfort also including the feeling of anxiety and stress. In some hospital departments there is an ongoing work on improving the sound environment through reduction of stressing sound experiences and adding of calming sounds e.g. music (this is often called music intervention). It makes sense to see to look at the patients experience all the way through the health care system including the transportation to the hospital. In this project physiological and perceptual effects of music intervention in ambulances are evaluated.
