Forfalds- og fornyelsesprocesser i ældre bykvarterer: En undersøgelse af ni københavnske boligkvarterer. Ph.d.-afhandling

Social and economic development trends have resulted in more visible marginalisation and affluence in big modern cities. These trends can be traced to neighbourhoods where some are caught up in a slummification process, while others are being socially and physically revitalised. This report reviews literature on gentrification, succession and housing regulation and attempts to relate these phenomena to the segregation on the housing market. Based on a socio-economic study of nine different types of older neighbourhoods in Copenhagen, potentials and barriers are clarified that can either accelerate or slow the decaying or revitalising processes.
