Abstract

We consider the uplink of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)-based system, where each Mobile Station (MS) experiences a different
Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO). Uncorrected CFO destroy the orthogonality among subcarriers, which could cause severe Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI)
and degrade the system performance considerably. In this paper, we propose a novel Multi-User Interference (MUI) cancellation
scheme for uplink OFDMA, which utilizes multiple OFDM-demodulators architecture to correct and then compensate the negative effects of multiple
CFOs at the receiver's side. Numerical evaluation has shown a considerable performance gain compared to the conventional receiver.
