Abstract

With the increasing popularity of trail running comes the growing interest for related performance optimization and injury prevention as new fields of
research. Particularly, the relationship between stability and muscle forces is of interest, due to injury risks (Besier et al., 2009). Kinematics and kinetics
analysis combined with musculoskeletal modelling allows direct and indirect quantification of human locomotion. The aim of this laboratory study was to
investigate changes in kinematics, kinetics, and muscle forces when running on uneven surface.
