A study by researchers from the Francis Crick Institute, the National Cancer Institute of the US National Institutes of Health, and Aalborg University has found that vitamin D boosts the growth of a gut bacteria in mice, enhancing their immunity to cancer. The research showed that vitamin D increases the amount of Bacteroides fragilis, improving immunity to cancer in mice with transplanted tumours.
