Faculty and researchers from the eight Arctic Council member states may now apply for this collaborative research program. Awards will begin in fall 2024 and run for 18 months, through spring 2026 (Application deadline for all applicants is March 1, 2024) Approximately 19 outstanding scholars will be selected through an open, merit-based competition.Two distinguished scholars with extensive experience in the Arctic will lead this round of the Fulbright Arctic Initiative. Dr. Elizabeth Rink, Professor of Community Health in the Department of Health and Human Development at Montana State University in the United States, and Dr. Lill Rastad Bjørst, Associate Professor of Arctic Studies in the Department of
Culture and Learning at Aalborg University in Denmark will serve as the Co-Lead Scholars, providing intellectual leadership throughout the program. Dr. Rink and Dr. Bjørst are both alumni of earlier iterations of the Fulbright Arctic Initiative.
