Dark waters beneath the digital surface

A different take is to look at the people expressing their thought in “the digital” fashion. In the realm of the discipline of learning, this is often treated in debates about digital nativism and or digital literacy. This is an important perspective because it raises questions of first and second language acquisition that run deeper than learning to use digital technologies. The digital form of thought is transforming the manifestation of thought from writing words and sentences from left to right on a piece of paper to moving images and icons around in a three-dimensional frame. This opens up the other aspect of the epistemic, or state of mind, perspective. It is not only viewing the digital as a new language, or media of thought, or form of thought, but also seeing the consequences of this on the people using it.
