Abstract

Constructivism is a learning philosophy that interprets the phenomenon of ‘learning’ as an active and dynamic process of knowledge construction. In the framework of constructivism, knowledge is not passively received, but, it is—dynamically—built up. This research has assumed that learners with insights based on their pre-structured knowledge and pre-conceptions (of the world) could actively participate in an interaction with their mentors. In such a framework, constructing and developing meanings and producing meaningful understandings of the world are the central objectives. This research will, by employing Description Logics, analyse inductive meaning constructing as a valuable product of constructivist interactions between mentors and learners. The main idea is based on a new scheme for interpretation based on semantics, induction, and interaction.
