Abstract
Summary: As part of my Ph.D. research, I have made video recordings of five Music Therapists? work with children with contact disturbances. In this article, I discuss the experience with video recording without one-way-screen as regards its influence on the therapy and, hence, on the data collected. I argue that the researcher?s presence does affect the therapy, but that this does not necessarily interfere with the quality of the therapy. Consequently, in assessing the data collection method, the most important question is whether it is the best method possible for what it is intended for. In using the data, the researcher then has to take into account advantages and disadvantages, strenghts and weaknesses of the collection method used.
