What I will present, is a way of thinking about infrastructures as “in-between practices” that aligns art with social struggles and collective transition. Drawing from the situation in Athens during Documenta 14, the presentation will discuss The Parliament of Bodies, D14’s public programme as an experimental platform for collective gatherings. I will focus on how The Parliament of Bodies developed a specific methodology of embodied gathering and – as part of this – how it has been operating in the social context of Athens. What are the constraints and potentials of such a temporary, international intervention into the social fabric of the city of Athens?
