Description

Researchers from Aalborg University and the London Francis Crick Institute have identified four indices linked to blood markers that could enable earlier detection and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The study, co-authored by Marie Vestergaard, a PhD student at the Center for Molecular Prediction of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at Aalborg University, compared the medical data of 20,000 Danes diagnosed with IBD with 4.6 million people without the disease. Ms Vestergaard stated: "Our research can help predict who could potentially suffer from IBD, leaving them opportunity to start treatment earlier and would significantly improve their quality of life."
