Description

In 2012 Denmark's global research impact rankings were described as a miracle, but now there is concern that the Danish research impact is in decline. According to Professor of Science Communication and Impact Studies at Aalborg University David Budtz Pedersen, the issue is multifactorial. He believes that the rise of China has made the top of research more competitive, and the rise in number of Phd's means that many papers are now published with little to no citation, impacting the relative Danish output. Professor in the Department of Energy Technology at Aalborg University Frede Blaabjerg believes that this should be a wake-up call for Danish politicians if they want to strengthen Danish research.
