Description

A proposed law requiring employers to record employees' working hours, a consequence of the Deutsche Bank case, is seen as a blow to Danish trust culture and an intrusion on employee freedom, according to critics. Thomas Bredgaard, Professor and Research Director at the Centre for Labour Market Research at Aalborg University, calls the proposal a "... huge bureaucratic and logistical task" that weakens trust between employees and employers. "Especially in the wake of corona, there is a great desire to experiment with working hours at many workplaces. The requirement for time registration immediately comes across these experiments," says Mr Bredgaard.
