Description

Protecting the planet - a group of international scientists from Aalborg University is working day and night collecting samples of microplastic pollutions from the Pacific Ocean - explore the dangers of microplastics. Lead researcher Laura Simon Sanchez sais we know a lot about plastic on the surface and trash on sea floor but not much about what happens in between. How much plastic is there and what size? The ocean is druning in plastics - estimated 170 trillion pieces of plastic. More than 21.000 pieces per persons on the planet. All the collecting samples  can help us to understand the impact of the plastic pollution. What happens with all the tiny plastics fragment in the oceans, ending up in the fish and in the food we eat?
