Project Details
Description
The East China Sea, South Korea, Japan, and the Californian coast area were among the more seismically active regions to experience a rapid expansion of offshore wind generation. The studies of wind turbine jacket construction with pile foundations are of particular interest since jacket foundations are more cost-effective and can offer more stability and reliability than monopiles. However, very little research works study the pile foundations for jacket structures. The objective of this study is to define a simplified method to estimate the shear and volumetric-induced components of seismically induced settlement/tilting in terms of the nonlinear dynamic soil-structure interaction (SSI) effective stress analyses.
