Size, satisfaction, and democracy

    Project Details

    Description

The project which examines connections between user satisfaction with local public services, municipality size and attitudes towards local democracy is part of an international project on Size and Local Democracy. The issue of size and democracy has long occupied a prominent position in the political science literature. The intent of the project is to elucidate the relation between size and local democracy in a variety of European countries (Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom respectively). This objective is pursued by two means: first, through the use of data sets that have been generated in connection with other studies carried out within these countries in recent decades; and second, by the collection of new data sets specifically related to the fundamental issues involved. Professor Poul Erik Mouritzen, University of Southern Denmark, is responsibel for the Danish part of the research project. Afsluttet i 2003 (Henrik Lolle)
